Retooling in Lübeck
01.09.2009
Recently, the experts of BETH in Lübeck proved once again that their filters can be adapted to the most current conditions, making them some of the most versatile and flexible systems in operation. The existing BETH tap filter 90 SKS 5 of a company in Hanau was changed over to a modern BETHPULS bag filter with a purging system that utilizes pressurized air impulses.
The source of dust is a 660 lbs melting furnace for soldering material. Hard solder on the basis of silver, copper, zinc, cadmium and other materials is melted here. The dust that is gen-erated during that process is now filtered with the retooled BETHPULS bag filter.
In order to avoid the danger of flying sparks that can cause fires in the bag filter,
a cyclone was installed upstream as a pre-separator. Additionally, a BETHPULS cartridge filter was installed downstream as a second dust extraction stage. These additions guarantee a pure gas dust load of < 0.1 mg/m³ in standard conditions.
With the retooled filter, it was possible to achieve considerably smaller values of pure gas dust content. Additional advantages are the significantly reduced maintenance requirements resulting from the switch to pressurized air impulses and the greatly reduced spare parts expenses. Long story short:
a very worthwhile improvement that once more showcases the flexibility of BETH products.
